Wallabies captain turned independent ACT senator David Pocock has been on the warpath about orange parliamentary passes ever since a decidedly unwanted yet entirely credentialled tobacco lobbyist dared invite himself in to chat shortly after Pocock’s election.

Were Australia’s Parliament House a real workplace, the professional advocates who make themselves fixtures in the ministerial corridor, the staff cafes or the offices of overburdened crossbenchers would be considered fixated persons and barred from the premises.
