Regional housing values gather steam
The rate of house price growth in some of the country’s more popular regions has surged by as much 21 times over the past three months compared to the previous quarter, fuelled by renewed demand from home buyers and investors priced out of the capital cities, data from CoreLogic shows.
The Barossa-Yorke-Mid North region in SA led the charge for the sharpest turnaround in house prices, followed by the Wheat Belt and Outback regions in WA, Launceston and North East in Tasmania and Newcastle and Lake Macquarie in NSW.
