Reclusive philanthropist sells Vaucluse mansion for $55m

The Vaucluse home of a 98-year-old philanthropist has sold for $55 million, the second trophy home in Sydney to sell at that price just in the past week after a Point Piper mansion also changed hands.

The sale prices for both homes equal the $55 million price tag of a third home in Rose Bay sold earlier this year as the most expensive to sell in Sydney so far this year.
