When Alexandra Walters moved into her two-bedroom apartment in Dee Why, on Sydney’s northern beaches, she made it her mission to turn it into a sustainable home.

“I want to install double-glazed windows to keep the place cool in summer and warm in winter and would put in an energy efficient airconditioning as a priority,” she said.
