Airbnb says the Victorian government’s planned 7. 5 per cent levy could push potential visitors to spend their holidays outside the state, steering business away from regional areas.

The short-stay platform warned on Wednesday the tax would do little to drive its stock of mostly holiday homes into the longer-term private rental market.
