NSW farmers spend $25m at sold-out water auction

The end of the triple-dip La Nina and forecasts of drier conditions over autumn helped fuel a $25 million sellout of Namoi River water licences at an online auction last week.

All six water entitlements on offer – a mix of permanent and temporary licences – were snapped up by local farmers through the AuctionPlus marketplace, jointly owned by agriculture giants Elders and Nutrien.
