Brisbane builds billion dollar waterfront

The renewal of Brisbane city’s waterfront is rapidly gaining pace with a local property group winning the right to redevelop the heritage listed Howard Smith Wharves, while final proposals for the multi billion dollar Queen Street Wharves are due for submission later this month.

The renewal of Brisbane city’s waterfront is rapidly gaining pace with a local ­property group winning the right to ­redevelop the heritage-listed Howard Smith Wharves, while final proposals for the multibillion dollar Queen Street Wharves are due for submission later this month.

HSW Consortium led by Adam ­Flaskas and Elisha Bickle will turn the Howard Smith Wharves underneath the Story Bridge into $100 million collection of restaurants, cafes, bars, 150-room ­five-star Deague hotel, an exhibition hall and parklands.
