Warragamba Dam project would have reduced flooding in Windsor by 3.5m

Raising the height of Sydney’s Warragamba Dam by 14 metres would have lowered floodwaters at Windsor Bridge this week by more than 3.5 metres, an environmental impact study exploring the $1.6 billion project found.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet on Friday renewed a request to the federal government to contribute 50 per cent of the cost of raising the dam wall, after surveying flood damage across the Hunter region by air in the morning.
