Warning sign for Aston after Chinese voters spurn Liberals in NSW

Chinese-Australian voters turned away from the Liberals in droves at the NSW election in a bad sign for the party ahead of the Aston federal byelection in Victoria this weekend.
More than 14 per cent of the population in the Aston electorate has Chinese ancestry, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which is nearly three times higher than national figure of 5.5 per cent.
