COVID heroes, business figures lead Queen’s Birthday honours
Former Qantas chairman and Rio Tinto chief executive Leigh Clifford has received Australia’s highest civilian honour, joining pandemic leaders, scientists and politicians among the biggest names in Monday’s Queen’s Birthday awards.
Mr Clifford was made a Companion of the Order of Australia, in recognition of his “eminent service to business in the aviation, arts and education sectors, to the community through charitable support and scholarships, and for philanthropic contributions.”
