Sydney train commuters have been hit by delays and urged to delay non-urgent travel after a breakdown in negotiations between rail unions and the NSW government.

After the Rail, Tram and Bus Union notified that from Friday it intended to take industrial action by driving slower, the NSW government responded by docking the pay of drivers who planned to take part in the go-slow.
