Robb warns on China military at secretive forum attended by Andrews
Former federal trade minister Andrew Robb has told a Melbourne forum of Chinese-Australian business people, which was closed to Western media, that the Asian superpower must demonstrate to the world that its rapidly growing military is defensive, not aggressive.
The event, held by the China-Australia Economic Co-operation Forum at the Park Hyatt on Monday night, was attended by about 300 people and also included a 30-minute speech from Victorian premier Daniel Andrews.
