Pressure is building on Annastacia Palaszczuk to relinquish her role as premier – but Queensland Labor’s problems don’t start and end with its leader. In fact, the premier’s departure could very well leave an untalented and incompetent team without even the veneer of non-threatening warmth that has carried Palaszczuk though many a scandal.

Permanently in crisis and hopelessly out of touch, the fact of leadership rumblings shows that even the party room knows that Labor’s position is becoming untenable.
