Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she would “go harder” on border restrictions if the NSW COVID-19 situation deteriorated, especially with cases moving north from Greater Sydney into regional areas.
As Queensland announced four new local coronavirus cases on Monday, health authorities confirmed they had linked the new case in Cairns – a 60-year-old unvaccinated taxi driver – to a previous case from the North Queensland city last week.
