Queensland Health authorities are growing increasingly confident the eight-day lockdown in the south-east corner can be lifted on Sunday, but strict coronavirus restrictions, including compulsory mask wearing, are expected to last until Christmas.

Queensland recorded 10 new local cases of coronavirus on Friday – all household contacts linked to the Indooroopilly cluster in Brisbane’s western suburbs.
