The Andrews government may have to agree to give a judge oversight of sweeping pandemic powers under a proposed change being discussed with key Victorian crossbenchers behind the scenes.
The Victorian opposition accused the government of “ramming through” the new laws – only released to the public on the same day they were to be debated in the lower house – which they claim give “dictatorial” powers to the Premier.
