NSW Transport chief sacked for resisting calls to redact KPMG figures

Former NSW Transport chief Rodd Staples says he was sacked after raising safety, operational and financial concerns about a new commercial transport agency, including directly with the then-premier Gladys Berejiklian.

Mr Staples told the NSW parliamentary public accountability committee on Monday he was terminated without reason last November after resisting a call by Treasury to redact KPMG advice that the newly formed Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE) would generate a more than $5 billion loss over the decade.
