NSW considers moving Sydney Harbour’s last working port for homes

The NSW government has not ruled out moving Sydney Harbour’s last working port from Glebe Island, west of the CBD, to make way for urgently needed housing around a planned new metro station.

After the Australian Turf Club rejected a proposed $5 billion sale of the Rosehill racecourse to make way for 25,000 new homes, Premier Chris Minns promised the government would deliver “new initiatives to have more housing closer to Sydney’s CBD” even if new developments might “ruffle a few feathers in the process”.
