Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick said there will be no increases in taxes or charges in Tuesday’s budget, as strong returns from coal exports boost the state’s bottom line.
While other states such as Victoria have been forced to slug households and businesses with new taxes to help cover big spending programs during the pandemic, Mr Dick said Queensland’s strong rebound from the lockdowns put it in a stronger position than southern states.
