Australia’s peak body for green energy investors and producers has warned the NSW government against following a Victorian decision to put more energy assets in public hands, arguing that direct government ownership could crowd out the market and spook investors.
As voters wait to hear NSW Labor leader Chris Minns’ election road map on energy, which is expected to include elements of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ revival of the State Electricity Commission, the Clean Energy Council has cautioned the government against nationalising energy assets.
