Long lead time to help Brisbane stay on budget for 2032 Olympic Games
Organisers of Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic Games would need to lock in cost controls to keep their promise to deliver a cut-price $5 billion event and avoid expensive cost blowouts that have plagued previous Games, according to infrastructure experts.
While Olympic Games have become synonymous with blowouts and stranded assets, Brisbane’s organising committee is hoping the 11-year time frame will give it a bit more breathing room than other host cities.
