Labor splurges cash in five-hour blitz of Tasmania

There was cash splashed about for a CBD revitalisation in Devonport, a theatre renovation in Launceston, an airport upgrade on Flinders Island and a housing project in Hobart as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and three senior Labor ministers descended on Tasmania in campaign mode.

With polls showing that federal Labor, which holds 78 seats, could fall below the magic number of 76 required to form a majority government, Mr Albanese is doing everything possible to hold red seats in smaller states.
