Labor's lead has narrowed slightly since the start of the election campaign but with two weeks until polling day, it remains comfortably ahead of the Coalition while Bill Shorten's personal ratings have improved significantly.
As Mr Shorten used his official campaign launch in Brisbane on Sunday to try and sharpen the contrast between his party and the Coalition by emphasising unity and "fair-go economics", the latest The Australian Financial Review-Ipsos poll showed Labor leading the Coalition on a two-party preferred basis by 52 per cent to 48 per cent.
