Former state MP seeks preselection in ‘new Liberal heartland’
Former Victorian state MP Cathrine Burnett-Wake has confirmed she will nominate for preselection to replace ex-federal cabinet minister Alan Tudge at a byelection in Aston.
Mr Tudge, who stood aside from the Morrison government ministry in December 2021 following revelations of an extramarital affair, announced last week he would quit politics after also facing heat in the robo-debt royal commission over his former role as human services minister.
