The disendorsed Liberal candidate for the seat of Gilmore, local real estate agent Grant Schultz, has quit the party over Scott Morrison's move to name former Labor Party national president Warren Mundine to run at the election and intends to run as an independent.
Mr Mundine is expected to be named as the candidate for the marginal seat of Gilmore this week, as sitting member Ann Sudmalis prepares to retire from politics.
