The brother of actor Hugh Jackman, barrister Ian Jackman, SC, is one of three new judges for the Federal Court after the Albanese government filled a raft of judicial vacancies on Thursday.
Mr Jackman will be joined on the Federal Court, which has produced the past five High Court justices, by two judges moving from other courts – Catherine Button, KC, of the Victorian Supreme Court and Geoffrey Kennett, SC, of the ACT Supreme Court.
