Attempts by the previous British government to thwart people smuggling by deporting illegal immigrants to Rwanda was based on advice by Tony Abbott, former Conservative UK prime minister Liz Truss said.
Ms Truss, who is visiting Australia, said she doubted the new Labour government led by Keir Starmer could do anything to arrest the influx of migrants which is causing social upheaval and unrest throughout Britain.
