Warning over Hong Kong ties to Defence security contracts

Some of Australia’s most sensitive defence bases are being guarded by contractors working ultimately for Hong Kong-based businessmen, sparking warnings about opportunities for potential Chinese intelligence gathering.

Among the defence establishments that Wilson Security provides guards for are Perth’s naval base – which will soon regularly host US nuclear-powered submarines – the army barracks in Darwin that is home to thousands of US Marines and the Defence Department’s Canberra headquarters.
