Opposition Leader Peter Dutton believes more Australians are considering voting for the Coalition than they were at the start of last year.
He says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is not offering a vision for a safer Australia currently, suggesting that could drive a shift in voters’ minds.
He points to “a lack of leadership in relation to the antisemitism we’re seeing on university campuses or on the steps of the Opera House or in the community” as where he believes the PM is falling short.
“I think it’s a national disgrace, so I think there are a number of reasons why people are reconsidering us, perhaps in a way that they weren’t 18 months ago,” he says as part of a speech in Melbourne.
