Voter support for net zero emissions by 2050 is sharply divided along party lines, highlighting the Coalition’s conundrum over whether to play to its base or risk alienating it as it chases more progressive voters.
The latest Australian Financial Review/Redbridge poll shows that while voters are equally split as to whether the Coalition should abandon its commitment to net zero, there is no such ambiguity among those who identify as Coalition voters.
