Unis expect near-record foreign student numbers despite policy chaos
Universities have shrugged off the policy chaos surrounding overseas students and are again on track to enrol close to record numbers as the government continues to stumble over how to control the influx.
However, there is rising frustration at the Albanese government’s latest intervention, known as ministerial direction 111, which threatens to slow visa processing for individual institutions when they reach 80 per cent of a nominated cap.
