Three big challenges for Australia’s net-zero transition

Addressing the missing middle, allaying community concerns and more government cooperation will all be critical to the future of the net-zero transition, according to energy experts.

Politicians and business risk losing public support for the net-zero transition if they do not adequately explain what is needed, why it is needed, and then address community concerns, leading energy experts say.

Equally, state and federal governments as well as businesses need to better coordinate the transition to avoid unnecessary spending on infrastructure, the cost of which will be borne by taxpayers and consumers.
