Cairns firefighter Tom Neville had planned for his yacht, Postremo, to ride out the cyclone season by mooring it at Manly marina in Brisbane.
The 12-metre yacht would be so far south, he reasoned, that it would be out of harm’s way for a few months. He brought it down and went back home.
