The ‘teal’ challenge splintering Perth’s blue-ribbon establishment

Political aspirant Kate Chaney’s bid to turn Perth’s blue ribbon seat of Curtin teal is splintering the establishment and seeing the dirty business of political campaigning hit the streets of the city’s well-heeled suburbs.

The Chaney name is synonymous with WA’s business and political elite. Ms Chaney’s father is chairman of ASX giant Wesfarmers, while her uncle Fred is a former cabinet minister and deputy leader of the Liberal Party.
