Since the last election, when Chinese-Australian voters deserted the Coalition en masse due to hostility between the Morrison government and Beijing, Peter Dutton and his team have been working hard to make amends.

A lesser known part of that effort is that the Coalition’s chief China whisperer has been, and continues to be, climate and energy spokesman Ted O’Brien.
