Meet the man on whom Peter Dutton is pinning his nuclear hopes
The opposition leader picked a relatively untested backbencher to create the Coalition’s nuclear energy policy, but his colleagues say Ted O’Brien was exactly the right choice.
Every Christmas, opposition energy spokesman Ted O’Brien organises a bottle of wine for each of the Coalition MPs elected in 2016 – the class of 2016 as they call themselves.
The bottle has a custom festive label with the faces of each MP in the class – or at least the ones who are still in federal parliament. O’Brien is also admin for the class’s WhatsApp group, according to one member.
