ASIO chief Mike Burgess has defied a political firestorm pressuring him to name the former politician who he revealed was recruited by a foreign spy agency and betrayed Australia.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton said the claim had put a cloud over every patriotic ex-MP, adding he would “put my money” on the traitor being a former NSW Labor MP and China the country involved.
