Social cohesion ‘fraying’, Albanese admits amid anti-Israel backlash

Anthony Albanese has admitted Australia’s social cohesion is becoming “frayed” as he slammed the antisemitic “From the river to the sea” protest slogan as undermining Palestinians’ interests and at odds with support for a two-state solution.

The prime minister defended his efforts to keep the community together, as he refused to be drawn on how Australia would vote on an upcoming United Nations resolution to allow Palestine to become a full member of the body.
