Shipton accuses Treasury of ‘tin ear’ over bad behaviour claims

Former watchdog chief James Shipton has launched an extraordinary attack on Treasury, accusing it of being insensitive, obstructionist and having a “tin ear” over allegations of intimidation and bad behaviour.

Mr Shipton last month told a Senate inquiry that a six-month “abusive advertising campaign” paid for by mining billionaire Clive Palmer left him suicidal, and the behaviour of a senior colleague made matters worse.
