Brittany Higgins acted altruistically when she spoke up about the handling of her alleged rape and senator Linda Reynolds has targeted the wrong person with her defamation lawsuit, a court has been told.
Senator Reynolds is suing Ms Higgins for a series of social media posts she claims subjected her to public “hatred, scandal, odium and contempt”. Ms Higgins is defending the action, arguing her social media posts about her former boss, the then defence minister, were substantially true.
