‘Remember 2025’: Inside Labor’s election night party

When ABC election analyst Antony Green raised the possibility Peter Dutton could lose his Brisbane seat of Dickson just after 7.30pm on Saturday night, it sent a jolt of electricity through Labor’s election night function.

Before the polls closed at 6pm, the Labor faithful were reserved about the party’s electoral prospects. Still scarred by Bill Shorten’s 2019 victory that wasn’t, no one dared get their hopes up.
