Quarantine plans for Qld and WA as PM backtracks
New purpose-built quarantine facilities look set to go ahead in three states after Prime Minister Scott Morrison took up plans by Queensland and Western Australia, a significant shift after weeks of pressure from Labor and the states.
Mr Morrison on Friday released a letter to Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, rejecting plans for a privately funded quarantine camp in Toowoomba but proposing a facility at Damascus Barracks at Pinkenba, near Brisbane Airport, be used instead.
