Influential business and political figures are rallying around Christine Holgate, with Australia Super CEO Ian Silk and former foreign minister Julie Bishop praising the Australia Post boss amid a "pile on" over corporate expenses.

A week after revelations she spent nearly $20,000 on Cartier watches for senior executives of the government-owned corporation, Ms Holgate is fighting to keep her job and pushing back on an investigation ordered by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
