Nuclear energy has become a lightning rod for internal recriminations following the Coalition’s election loss, stoking tensions between Liberals and Nationals, and between the Liberals themselves.
The Nationals, who for the second successive election held all their seats while the Liberals were routed again, want to retain the policy to build seven nuclear power stations, even though it may not be until 2031 that the Coalition is back in power.
