NSW Labor urges rethink on gaming policy

Labor has called for a review of NSW’s casino policy after the monopoly licence held by Echo Entertainment expires and any licence is granted to James Packer for a hotel and gaming venture at Barangaroo.

Labor has called for a review of NSW’s casino policy after the monopoly licence held by Echo Entertainment expires and any licence is granted to James Packer for a hotel and gaming venture at Barangaroo.

NSW opposition spokesman for Planning and Infrastructure, Luke Foley, said new casino licences in the state should be opened to tender, pointing to the potential for casinos in regional areas to create jobs.
