No smoking gun: Dutton defends Liu

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says there is "no smoking gun" that under-fire Victorian Liberal MP Gladys Liu is a national security threat, as she faced further scrutiny over her fundraising for the Liberal Party.

Mr Dutton, who has ministerial responsibility for the Federal Police and ASIO, has refused to comment on whether the government has received intelligence briefings on Ms Liu.
