Patients accessing dental services in large medical clinics around the country face possible price hikes from new payroll tax liabilities imposed by state governments.

Victoria and South Australia this week became the latest states to exempt general practice doctors operating in large medical centres from retrospective and future payroll tax dues, after state revenue officials in 2022 started treating GPs and other medical providers as employees rather than contractors.
