When Qantas released a new advertisement this week to dangle the lure of international travel for the vaccinated, the airline’s executives were taken aback by the response.

The ad, emotional even by Qantas’ standards, begins with the despair of those separated indefinitely from friends, family, and home, before it offers hope with the characters receiving their vaccinations and jetting off abroad.
