Gay students and teachers in church-run schools are set to be protected from institutional discrimination under a deal agreed to as part of negotiations over Scott Morrison’s planned religious freedom laws.
Ahead of Parliament’s final sitting day for 2021 on Thursday, Attorney-General Michaelia Cash agreed to requests from moderate Liberal MPs who wanted delayed changes to the Sex Discrimination Act urgently progressed.
