Counterterrorism police have taken over the investigation of a swastika vandalism attack at a Sydney synagogue as the NSW police commissioner and premier call on the public to help catch those responsible.
NSW Premier Chris Minns said the attack on Newtown Synagogue in Sydney’s inner west early on Saturday marked an escalation in antisemitic crime in the state, and police said the attack was attempted arson.
